I work as a Digital Skills Trainer on the Gloucestershire Restart Project delivering personalised digital training for people who are currently unemployed. I work with individuals and groups. Being able to improve the opportunities for people in my local community is really important to me. My favourite part of this job? It’s working with a client, supporting them on their digital learning journey, watching them gain confidence and achieving success. Just brilliant!
After completing an Honours Degree in Computer Science, I qualified as a Secondary School Teacher and spent 20 years teaching Computing, Creative iMedia and Business Applications of IT. I also worked as a specialist examiner and moderator during that time. I haven’t always been a Teacher though. One of my more interesting roles was working in a Pathology Laboratory. Learning about anatomy, histology and the biosciences was truly fascinating.
Outside of work, I love to sing and I’m a member of a local Chamber Choir. I love being outdoors as well. Being in my garden gives me time to unwind. I also enjoy walking in the countryside with my dogs and like a creative art class too. Colouring books are a favourite when I can’t get outside. My mother says I may have a pencil obsession…… I agree!
