Jamie Dabrowiecki (it's Polish in origin) is our digital assistant here at Cosmic and is working on an apprenticeship scheme. He started with us back in January and describes his daily tasks as ‘varied.’
“I get into the office, check my e-mails, have the team meeting, update the social media channels, plan and manage events using Lamplight and Eventbrite, eat lunch, check and respond to support e-mails, create some packs for Social Enterprise Mark holders, design posters, hand-outs and leaflets, and check support e-mails again.” Jamie also attends events which he has helped to plan as and when required.
We asked Jamie what his most and least favourite part of working here at Cosmic was. He said “My least favourite thing is working opposite a certain German supermarket – the urge to buy cheap chocolate is too much.” However, he loves the work environment we have here. “I have a passion for technology and being surrounded by it on a daily basis is great.”
Being an apprentice, Jamie hasn’t had too many other jobs but he still holds a weekend job working in a kitchen. The environment is completely different and he thought that he might find it difficult to adapt but luckily he hasn’t found it too much of a chore as he really enjoys it here (his words, not ours!).
Outside of work Jamie plays football and also writes blogs for a review website. Because of this, he sometimes gets sent tech and gadgets to give his opinion on. He’s also a gamer, like a lot of the guys here in the office. Because of his review writing, Jamie states his claim to fame as ‘having blogs published on websites like CNET and CBS News” which get a lot of traffic.
Jamie doesn’t like small change and if he ruled the world, he’d abolish 1p, 2p and 5p coins and make all prices end in a zero! Jamie’s interesting fact about himself is that he has a keen interest in the Chernobyl nuclear disaster of 1986. He’s watched numerous documentaries and read many articles on it and he’s hoping to visit the site of the disaster within the next year or so.
So that's Jamie, the guy with the unpronounceable surname. Like most of the other staff here though, we will now refer to him as Cosmic Jamie.
