Great video editing apps for Android

Following on from last week's blog on great video editing apps for iOS, this week I will be taking you through great video editing apps for Android. It is clear to see that the Google Play Store is as abundant, if not more so with video editing apps compared to the iOS App Store, but after a little while of downloading them and giving them a go, it was clear to see that a majority of these apps really didn't do what I needed them to do. In fact, Google itself attempted to fill the void of useful video editing apps by releasing its own Android video editor called Movie Studio back in 2011, but the app was almost immediately abandoned. Due to the vast size of the Android app ecosystem, it really can be difficult to decipher between the good and not so good, but below are three video editing apps for Android that I feel work well for me.

AndroVidAndroVid

The first on my list of great apps for video editing on Android is AndroVid. A great little app that allows you to cut, trim, edit and add music and text to your video footage in an instant. There are plenty of effects to play around with such as fading in and out or slowing down and speeding clips up. The best thing about this app? You get this all for free!

Another video app freely available on the Play Store is FilmoraGo, a fantastic little app when it comes to creating a quick montage of video and photos, incorporated into one of the many templates available within the app, a finishing it with a soundtrack FlimoraGo's own library of songs, or one of your own. One of the main benefits of FilmoraGo is that the app doesn’t watermark the work that you create, so the videos that you create are yours.

The final video editing app on my list is Video Maker Pro, another useful app which will allow you to cut, trim and edit video files. The only issue with the app is that it only seems to be able to run on specific Android devices. Due to the vast number of various devices running Android, you may find that the app doesn't work for you.

Each of the apps above do have their own benefits and drawbacks, and really the only way you will find an app that works best for you is to search the Google Play store to find an app that works for you. As I mentioned at the beginning of the blog, there is a huge abundancy of video apps available for Android devices and most of which are free to download.
