Cosmic bring I.T Clinic to Cullompton. The Kings Head; Thursday 21st October, 10.30am-7pm

The I.T.Clinic is a free event for small businesses to learn how the latest, affordable technologies can work for them. The Devon County Council event aims to reach out to local business people to help them take advantage of cheap or sometimes even free hardware, software or Internet based options.

A Cosmic workshop/training event

The drop in event, organised by Cosmic, an ethical IT Company based in Ottery St Mary, will take place in The Kings Head in Cullompton on Thursday 21st October, 10.30am until 7pm. Throughout the day, there will be a number of half hour drop in workshops on areas such as how to sell online, website effectiveness, mobile working and using social media for business. All delivered in plain English and supported by help sheet documentation. Each session will start on the hour throughout the event and there is no need to book.

Complimentary tea and cake will be served to visitors, to create a relaxed, but informative atmosphere. A team of friendly Digital Mentors will be on hand to talk to visitors and answer questions. There will be displays and demonstrations on topics such as video communication over the Internet, mobile working, free alternatives for word processing, email, file storage and more. Plus a chance to learn about the Cullompton ‘Hub’ – a new, modern, flexible low cost workspace in the heart of the town and Jelly sessions, casual work events for home based workers to come together to work, socialize and network.

Visitors are welcome to bring along their laptops to a free surgery with a Digital Mentor, to resolve any current IT problems they are experiencing. Book early as places for the surgery are limited.

Kate Doodson, Cosmic, said “We are very excited to be supporting local businesses in this way, especially local traders and home based businesses who often miss out on this type of support. We believe by helping them become aware of technology available, they can work more efficiently, saving time and money, not to mention potentially accessing new markets.”

Members of the public are also welcome to attend. It is hoped the I.T. Clinic will inspire and encourage small businesses to harness the potential that new technology has to offer.
