6 questions for new team member Rob Bowker

Rob BowkerRob Bowker is one of Cosmic's newest members of staff, so we asked him some questions about himself so you can get to know him a little bit better.

1. What do you do here at Cosmic?

I’m a Digital Training Assistant, supporting our training team working on the Positive People project in Devon.

2. What’s your favourite part about the job, and what are you most excited about doing?

I’ve got a real passion for training and development, and imparting my knowledge and experience. I love to see people grow, and can’t wait to see that reflected in my work. Also as a self-confessed geek, getting to play with all the gadgets we receive on a day to day basis!

3. What do you like most about Cosmic?

Having spent a lot of time working for corporations, it’s refreshing to know what I’m now doing is not only making a positive difference to people’s lives, but also that the business is investing back into good causes and social enterprise.

4. What is the most interesting thing about you or that you have done?

I’ve hiked through Japan to see the famous Kyoto Bon Festival. Bit unorthodox for my usual tastes, but after climbing mountain trails and wandering through forest paths, there was nothing quite like staring out over the river with an pint of Asahi and watching gigantic Kanji lettering being set on fire on a hillside! After all that exertion, I then nearly missed my flight home – made it to the gate with 2 minutes to spare.

5. Are you Apple or Android?

Windows Phone! But as Microsoft have more or less given up on it, I’ve gone Android. I’m all about customisation and being able to use my device the way I want, so for me Android’s the only way. Of course, this doesn’t stop me wanting a Mac just for Final Cut Pro!

6. What are your hobbies or interests?

Hurling myself down a dangerous snowy mountain on a slightly curved tea tray – also known as snowboarding. Bit difficult to do that in the UK on a regular basis so when I’m not saving up for a week of death defying après-ski, I’ll be buried underneath a mountain of Marvel comic books!
