The aim of this free training programme is to create a health and social care workforce fit for the digital future. 

The Digital Champions programme is an opportunity for health and social care staff (new and existing) to invest in their own digital skills. This is the start of the journey for care professionals to become fully fluent with the digital resources available to them, enhancing the support that they provide, whilst also improving the wellbeing of staff.

Looking for a job? By completing this 12 week programme, you will be supported with a job interview for potential vacancies within the industry in Devon & Somerset. 

This programme will explore challenges and opportunities that digital tools present to staff, enabling you to develop new skills to address this challenge and boost your own career progression. It will also develop your thinking on how you can use Digital to help customers and patients to manage their health & welfare, their independence and social inclusion needs.  

The course allows people of all skill levels to learn something new, and to be able to step into the employment landscape with confidence and motivation.  

Once completed, participants will join the Digital Champions network where we will provide news, support and further learning opportunities. 

Over the course of 12 weeks, with 60 hours of learning, you will learn:  

  • How to spot signs of digital exclusion with your colleagues and clients 

  • Ways to coach and mentor people who struggle with their digital skills 

  • The amazing world of Microsoft 365 and the benefits it can bring you on a daily basis 

  • How Apps can support your work life and improve your resilience and mental health 

Training will be predominantly via Video conference, with additional self-learning through an online learning platform and project work. (Combined structured learning of 5 hours per week, inclusive of workshop sessions).   

Number of hours: 60 hours over 12 weeks. 5 hours per week (Combined structured learning of 5 hours per week, inclusive of 3 hour workshop sessions and self-learning).
