16.7% of adults in Plymouth are smokers. That’s roughly 1 in 6 people, which is higher than the UK average of 11.9%.
Smoke Free Plymouth is part of public health England push for the UK to be smoke free by 2030 tasked with empowering Plymouth residents to take control of their health and quit smoking.
The challenge
Smoke Free Plymouth, a collaborative initiative between Plymouth City Council, Livewell Southwest and One You Plymouth, needed a digital platform to do more than share standard pages of information. The goal was to create an engaging, accessible and supportive online space that would inspire behaviour change and provide practical tools for individuals at every stage of their quitting journey.
Our solution

The impact
The new Smoke Free Plymouth website launched in October 2025, offering a bright and clean, user-friendly platform that empowers individuals to make informed choices about quitting smoking. With interactive tools, relatable stories, and clear pathways to support, the site is helping deliver the UK Government campaign to stop smoking by 2030. Helping local Plymouth residents take positive steps towards a healthier future.
