Viridor Credits Environmental Company is an independent, not-for-profit organisation which provides funding for community, heritage and biodiversity projects around England and Scotland through the Landfill Communities Fund and Scottish Landfill Communities Fund.
They approached Cosmic in 2019 after we were recommended to them, based on our experience in developing websites for charities and community organisations.
Their old site was overly corporate-looking and was starting to show its age. It didn’t resonate well with their target audience and the site structure was confusing to many users. Viridor Credits wanted the website to be uncluttering and fully designed – reaching the right people with the right visual image. The new website needed to be responsive to a range of screen sizes and be clean and modern in appearance.
Cosmic’s team designed and developed a new site that is easy to manage, with a bold, colourful design that matches their brand values and ethos. The new design gives a clear presentation of the positive community projects and work that Viridor Credits helps to support, as well as giving a clear route through their application process. We also developed a postcode-lookup to validate if an applicant was within the catchment area for the funding – an essential component of the application process. The use of large images and text makes it easy to find what you’re looking for and moves away from the corporate look they wanted to avoid.
