Karen Joins Cosmic | Cosmic Skip to main content

Karen is one of Cosmic's newest members of staff, so we asked her 6 questions all about her role, and a bit about herself too.

  1. What do you do here at Cosmic?

Hi, I’m Karen. I recently joined Cosmic as a Digital Trainer.  I’m part of a team spread across the whole of the Southwest, delivering personalised, engaging and flexible digital training for the Restart Project.  I work with individuals and groups, tailoring digital training for their personal needs and desires.

  1. What’s your favourite part about the job, and what are you most excited about doing?

My favourite part of this job is teaching.  Working with a client, deciding what they want to learn, taking them on their learning journey and achieving success. Brilliant!

  1. What do you like most about Cosmic?

Since I joined Cosmic, I haven’t stopped smiling! The team I work with is amazing.  Knowing that our collaboration will result in fabulous training for our clients is just the best feeling for me.

  1. What is the most interesting thing about you or that you have done?

I did work in a Pathology Laboratory in Germany for a couple of years, supporting the Pathologists and Technicians with specimen preparation, processing and reporting. Nothing as glamourous as “Silent Witness” though.

  1. What’s your favourite piece of digital technology at home or in your pocket?

I love an intelligent speaker.  I studied Artificial Intelligence at University, almost twenty years ago now, and appreciate the potential AI has for us all at both personal and global levels and it’s only going to get better.  Humour may take some time for AI to master, although Alexa’s jokes do make me laugh... sometimes.

  1. What are your hobbies or interests?

Family and friends take up most of my time outside of work.  I do sing in a Chamber Choir though.  I find singing helps me unwind after a busy day. Learning to sing some pretty risky Sea Shanties this summer has been a good laugh! I also love travelling, gardening, reading a good sci-fi or detective novel; has to be a paperback though. I recently took a decorative glass workshop in Bude, which was wonderful and also enjoy colouring books…my mother says I have a pencil obsession…I agree!

Join us in welcoming Karen to the team!
