The Restart Scheme is a new government scheme that supports people who are claiming Universal Credit and have been in the Intensive Work Search Regime for 9 months or more. It is part of the Government’s wider ‘Plan for Jobs’ to help people who have lost their jobs as a result of COVID-19 to find work and get back on the road to recovery.

"Tara has been a fantastic support to us on the Restart Scheme. She has been attending our office in Barnstaple to give presentations on laptop confidence for our participants, helping them to improve their digital skills and gain the tools they need to feel more confident in using their devices.
"We have had some great feedback from our participants surrounding the support they have received from Tara, and we’ve seen a massive improvement in the digital skills of those who have attended the presentations and received support.
"Some of our participants were unable to access their emails or make applications without support, and we have noticed an increase in their job applications - also a couple of the participants Tara has previously worked with have now gone into sustained employment.
"Tara has been a pleasure to work with and we love having her in the office, as she always brings treats! She’s been very communicative and keeps us in the loop with how she is working with our participants."
