Cosmic is proud to announce that we are among the early signatories of the newly launched Workforce Digital Skills Charter, spearheaded by FutureDotNow. This charter represents a united commitment across businesses to close the essential digital skills gap in the UK workforce. With nearly 22 million working-age adults lacking essential digital skills, the need for decisive action has never been more urgent.
Since its inception, FutureDotNow has brought together industry leaders to tackle the digital divide, and Cosmic is proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with this coalition. As part of this movement, Julie Hawker, our CEO, was appointed Industry Lead for the South West in June 2024, taking a hands-on role in shaping the region's digital future. Whilst, Emma Moore, Head of Business Development and Marketing at Cosmic, has been actively involved in developing key initiatives within FutureDotNow's targeted workstreams.
Julie Hawker, speaking about the significance of the charter, says: "The launch of the Workforce Digital Skills Charter is a rallying call for collective action. At Cosmic, we recognise the critical importance of addressing the digital skills gap to ensure businesses, communities, and individuals thrive in an increasingly digital world. We are committed to working alongside other signatories to create a future-fit, digitally confident workforce for the South West and beyond."
With over 100 cross-sector organisations, including major UK businesses like Accenture, PwC, and Barclays, already signed up, Cosmic encourages other organisations to join this important cause. A digitally capable workforce is key to unlocking economic growth, creating new opportunities, and ensuring that no one is left behind as AI and automation continue to reshape the workplace.
