Objectives:
The Flexible AI Upskilling Fund pilot aims to boost AI adoption and productivity by encouraging employer-led investment in skills and training. With evidence showing a gap in AI skills hindering adoption, particularly in smaller companies, this initiative addresses a critical need in the market.
What the Money Can and Cannot Be Used For:
✅ Funding can be used for AI skills training procurement.
❌ Funding cannot be used for:
- Purchasing AI technologies
- Business advice or consulting
- Recruitment activity
- Salaries, including work placement or internship salaries
- Capital expenditure (e.g., land, buildings, equipment)
Key Dates to Remember:
- Pre-launch information and Q&A session: 16 April 2024
- Application window opens: 1 May 2024
- Application window closes: 31 May 2024
- Award letters issued: Summer 2024
Deadline for training delivery and grant funding reimbursement: 31 March 2025.
