Christmas crafting workshops with Positive People

SnowmanChristmas is just around the corner and Cosmic and its partners are getting festive by holding Christmas crafting workshops across Devon. These workshops are part of the Positive People project, which is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund. The project aims to help people become more socially and digitally connected.

These workshops provide a great opportunity for people to try something new and get in the mood for Christmas. In 2016, the average household spent £753 on Christmas presents. The Positive People team want to demonstrate that you don’t need to spend lots of money to give great gifts. In these free workshops, participants can get involved with a range of activities including making wreaths and snow globes, designing Christmas cards and T-shirts and making their own hanging tree decorations. In Tiverton, they are holding a stop-animation workshop, involving parents and children of Wilcombe Primary School. At some venues, there is also the opportunity to try out cake decorating and build your own Virtual Reality headset.

All the gifts that you make can be taken home at the end of the day to give to loved ones (or keep for yourself if you like!) at no charge. The events also include free food and refreshments for all participants. What more could you ask for on your wish list this Christmas?

Here is a list of the areas and dates for each event. You can also visit the Positive People Events page for up to date information about all our events.
